HR-57 Center for the Preservation of Jazz Blues is a music cultural center. We take our name from a House Resolution first passed by congress in 1987. This resolution (H.Con.Res 57) designated jazz as "a rare and valuable national American treasure".
Since 1993 HR-57 has provided a place where aspiring musicians gather to learn the history and cultures of the genres of jazz and blues. It's a venue for the exchange of ideas and information between aspiring and professional musicians, students, aficionados and the general public.
Our mission is to educate, provide experiences, opportunities and information that traverse the full spectrum of the jazz and blues experience. We seek to obtain our objectives by offering programs and activities that are all inclusive. We offer lectures workshops and music lessons for beginning and advanced musicians. Exhibits, theatre and concerts are included activities. By working with non-profits, area colleges and Universities we help make available resources needed to further the understanding of the genres.
Weekly and special performances showcasing exciting new talent as well as world-renowned artists are held in a warm and relaxed atmosphere so why not come and visit!
